Aluminum 1050
Aluminum 1050 is a high-purity 1xxx-series alloy used where corrosion resistance, conductivity and formability are more important than high strength.
Alloy basis
It is commercially pure aluminum with very low alloy content and is generally non-heat-treatable.
Typical applications
Chemical equipment, reflectors, sheet metal, heat exchangers, food-related equipment and electrical applications.
Common tempers / conditions
Often supplied in O, H12, H14, H18 and related strain-hardened tempers.
Engineering selection notes
Confirm the exact alloy designation, temper, product form, thickness/diameter, mechanical properties, corrosion environment, joining process, surface treatment and certification. Properties can vary substantially by temper and product form.
QA/QC
For critical service, verify heat/lot traceability, mill certificate, chemical composition, tensile properties, temper, dimensional tolerances and any required NDT or third-party inspection.
Element Folio engineering reference. Verify the latest governing standard and producer data before design or procurement.
