Aluminum 1100
Aluminum 1100 is a commercially pure wrought alloy known for excellent formability, corrosion resistance and conductivity.
Alloy basis
It contains a small copper addition compared with very high-purity 1xxx grades and is strengthened mainly by cold work.
Typical applications
Chemical handling equipment, heat exchangers, cookware, decorative sheet, ducting and general fabrication.
Common tempers / conditions
Common tempers include O, H12, H14 and H18.
Engineering selection notes
Confirm the exact alloy designation, temper, product form, thickness/diameter, mechanical properties, corrosion environment, joining process, surface treatment and certification. Properties can vary substantially by temper and product form.
QA/QC
For critical service, verify heat/lot traceability, mill certificate, chemical composition, tensile properties, temper, dimensional tolerances and any required NDT or third-party inspection.
Element Folio engineering reference. Verify the latest governing standard and producer data before design or procurement.
