Super Duplex 2507 Stainless Steel

Super duplex 2507 is a highly alloyed duplex stainless grade for severe chloride-containing environments.

Grade overview

Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen than 2205 provide stronger pitting and crevice-corrosion resistance, with high mechanical strength.

Typical applications

Seawater systems, desalination, offshore platforms, chemical plants, subsea equipment and high-chloride heat exchangers.

Equivalent / related designations

UNS S32750 is a common designation. Fabrication requires strict welding heat-input, interpass temperature and cleanliness control to avoid harmful phases.

Common manufacturers and supply

Produced by specialist duplex mills including Outokumpu, Alleima, Acerinox and other qualified stainless producers.

Fabrication and selection notes

Confirm the exact product standard, edition, dimensions, delivery condition, mechanical properties, impact requirements, heat treatment, welding procedure, corrosion environment and certification. A grade name alone is not sufficient for procurement or design approval.

QA/QC documentation

For critical service, verify heat number traceability, mill test certificate, chemical analysis, tensile/impact results where required, NDT, heat-treatment record and project-specific third-party inspection requirements.
