Before using the estimated quantities

Check your inputs: The built-up area is calculated as floor area multiplied by number of floors. Enter the area for one typical floor, not the total building area. Quantities are conceptual allowances and are not derived from structural drawings, detailed room layouts or an MEP design. The calculator enforces minimum values for certain fields; always review the inputs and results before pricing.

Rate basis: Unit rates are entered in AED, and a blank rate means the quantity remains unpriced. The total excludes taxes unless you manually include them in an extra item. Material waste is a planning allowance, not a substitute for a measured take-off. The print view is a preliminary BOQ, not a certified quantity survey.

Saving: Browser storage is device- and browser-specific and may be cleared. Export CSV regularly if you need a backup or want to continue the estimate in spreadsheet software.

How costing works

Enter a unit rate beside any material. The calculator multiplies the estimated quantity by that rate and updates the section subtotal and grand total instantly. Use + Add extra within any section for labour, transportation, equipment, installation or another lump-sum cost. Blank prices remain unpriced without affecting the quantity BOQ.
